Description
A vibrant explosion of color and rhythm. This acrylic painting on leather pulses with a symmetric energy. Bold stripes intersect with flowing organic curves. The composition suggests a mirrored face or a cosmic mask. It reflects a deep exploration of identity and global belonging. High-contrast black and white lines anchor the vivid palette. Neon greens and deep purples clash in a harmonious dance. The artist employs an intuitive process to achieve a state of semi-trance. Every stroke moves with a deliberate yet fluid precision. This artwork transcends borders and definitions. It transforms a physical surface into a psychological landscape. Geometric rigor meets surrealist dreaming. The leather support adds a tactile depth to the saturated pigments. Intricate patterns spiral toward a central axis. The visual language merges symbolic marks with abstract geometry. Symmetry creates a tension between order and chaos. The result is a mesmerizing visual meditation. This piece captures a fleeting moment of spiritual intensity. Colors bleed into one another through sharp, defined edges. The composition culminates in a concentrated burst of chromatic energy.
The artist was inspired by African masks and traditional Brasilian folk art sculptures called Carrancas which are wood sculptures attached to the prows of riverboats that are meant to ward off evil spirits.
These works are unique in their creation because paint is applied behind the surface being used which in this case is plexiglass. It can be considered a reverse glass painting technique.
Almo wonders about his identity, the countries he has lived in, his daily routine and how he creates himself. An outsider who has made the world his home, skin, and citizenship, and through his artwork, he safeguards it in an attempt to explore the mysteries that pass through. Whether they are symbols, dreams or marks of the life of each of us.

Presentation
Almo wonders about his identity, the countries he has lived in, his daily routine and how he creates himself. An outsider who has made the world his home, skin, and citizenship, and through his artwork, he safeguards it in an attempt to explore the mysteries that pass through. Whether they are symbols, dreams or marks of the life of each of us. The artist´s work often features heads, floating bodies, trees, dollar signs, cars, laurel branches, and symbolic elements that denounce the cruelties of our borders. Almo executes his drawings intuitively in these acrylic paintings, aiming for a state of ´semi-trance´ as he himself defines his process.
Almo, Jorge Alberto Morillo Doria, was born in Honduras, spent his childhood in the Phillippines, moved to Italy for his Univesity studies, and now resides in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
