Vibrant energy radiates from this composition. A face emerges through a kaleidoscope of symmetrical lines. The artist employs a rhythmic layering of acrylic on leather. Bold primaries clash with soft pastels. Every curve suggests a state of intuition. The eyes remain closed. This evokes a deep sense of interiority and semi-trance. Geometric precision meets organic flow. The artwork explores the boundaries of identity and citizenship. It transforms a human portrait into a universal map of dreams. The artist was inspired by African masks and traditional Brasilian folk art sculptures called Carrancas which are wood sculptures attached to the prows of riverboats that are meant to ward off evil spirits.
These works are unique in their creation because paint is applied behind the surface being used which in this case is plexiglass. It can be considered a reverse glass painting technique.

Almo wonders about his identity, the countries he has lived in, his daily routine and how he creates himself. An outsider who has made the world his home, skin, and citizenship, and through his artwork, he safeguards it in an attempt to explore the mysteries that pass through. Whether they are symbols, dreams or marks of the life of each of us.
