Description
Japan awakens under a winter mantle. A red pagoda rises powerfully against the iconic silhouette of Mount Fuji. The contrast of colors creates an immediate visual dialogue. The bright red of the architectural structures cuts against the deep blue of the sky and the pure white of the snow.
The artist uses the knife here to sculpt the material. This technique brings a marked relief and a tactile density to the composition. The touches are broad and assertive. They translate a spontaneous, almost instinctive movement. The cherry blossoms, a delicate pink, frame the scene like a natural curtain.
Acrylic allows for the achievement of sharp contrasts and a franche luminosity. The snow does not seem frozen, it vibrates under the effect of the impasto. Each cut of the blade defines a plane, a shadow or a reflection. The composition guides the eye from the floral foreground to the mountain horizon. This winter landscape combines architectural rigor and gestural freedom.
Presentation
Thibault Vigneron is a painter passionate about knife painting, a technique he favors for the texture, shine, and movement it brings to his artworks. Inspired by themes of fashion, pop culture, and travel, he creates dynamic works that capture the energy of these worlds.
As a draftsman, he draws inspiration from fashion illustrations, comics, and graphic novels, blending these influences to bring unique and expressive creations to life.
The son of renowned painter Marc Vigneron, Thibault grew up in an artistic environment, immersed in the world of art from a young age. Today, he continues this family legacy while developing his own artistic voice.
At the same time, he teaches drawing, driven by a desire to pass on his passion and skills to the next generations.
