Description
The line intertwines with total freedom. Fluid curves draw a complex network on a light background. The movement seems spontaneous, almost instinctive. A few touches of color punctuate this organized chaos. Rectangles of deep purple anchor the composition. They create points of visual tension. Splashes of green and ochre float between the lines. The balance arises from this contrast between the lightness of the line and the density of the pigments. The composition evokes a mental schema or a dream map. Each line guides the gaze towards a new intersection. The whole plays on transparency and superposition. The material is applied in places with precision, elsewhere with lightness. This analytical approach transforms the graphic gesture into a spatial exploration. The final rendering favors clarity and the breathing of the support. The image ends on fine and dispersed chromatic details.
Presentation
Sophie Valette is a French artist, who has had a true passion for all types of art, since her childhood.
After working in the world of fashion, she decided to devote herself to painting. She took lessons in different studios (engraving, life sculpture, painting) and achieved her masters in art history. She then began a more personal research. Fascinated by cave paintings, she mixed acrylic, pigments and binders to portray intimate images on canvas, right out from her imagination.
Sophie Valette has many inspirations, the key ones being Basquiat, Motherwell, Tapiès. Like them, she sees painting as a decisive manner to commit and find her unique and personal expression, right out from her personal life.
Between lyrism and pure abstraction, Vallette's work has surprising power, all the while remaining subtle in a harmonious manner.
