Description
A narrow sandy path winds through a wild meadow of red and orange poppies, their petals modeled in thick, glossy oil and outlined with lively ribbons of yellow, violet and turquoise. Beyond the tall grasses, bands of crimson and green stretch toward a pale sky and a distant line of blue trees. Martin Mushkambaryan paints spring with bold energy, letting expressive scraped lines and sculpted impasto turn the field into a dancing rhythm of color and light. A truly joyful, optimistic landscape that brings the freshness of the Armenian countryside to any living room, office, hotel or dining space.
Presentation
Martin Mushkambaryan was born in 1990 in Yerevan, Armenia. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University.
He paints in oil on canvas, building his pictures from thick, sculpted layers of paint and bold, luminous colour. His subjects include mountain and coastal landscapes, quiet lakesides, sunflower fields and still lifes of bottles and flowers, always full of movement and light.
His work has been shown in solo exhibitions at the HayART Cultural Center (2010), the Narekatsi Art Union in Yerevan (2017) and in the city of Jermuk (2019). He has also taken part in a number of group exhibitions. In 2010 HayART awarded him a certificate of appreciation for presenting his solo exhibition at a high level.
