Description
A monochrome exploration where matter becomes the subject. The artist uses acrylic and mixed media techniques to create a subtle relief. The surface plays with the shades of white. A human silhouette timidly emerges from the background. It seems to fade or recompose itself.
The work relies on the idea of the trace. The gesture is precise. The composition evokes a spectral portrait. The absence of color concentrates attention on the texture. Areas of void and solid structure the space.
The approach is within an urban pop aesthetic. It questions memory and evanescence. The rendering oscillates between painting and bas-relief. Light sculpts the forms and creates light shadows. This 2026 piece bears witness to a research on transformation. The gaze gets lost in the simplicity of the support. The visual balance rests on a minimalist contrast. The whole allows for a poetic interpretation of the human figure.

Presentation
Christophe Ruiz is a French visual artist, born in Pau in 1965. His approach is part of an urban pop aesthetic that combines ecological commitment and graphic energy. Working with recycled materials, he brings matter back to life by exploring the notions of transformation, evanescence and memory.
Her works, halfway between painting, collage, and bas-relief, evoke the controlled chaos of a changing world. Acetone, used to alter surfaces, becomes a tool of revelation: it dissolves to better reveal. Each piece bears the trace of a deliberate erasure, a crumbling that questions our relationship to time, the body, and the environment.
Present on Artsper for several years, Christophe Ruiz has attracted collectors who are sensitive to committed contemporary art, which is at once raw, poetic and resolutely current.
