Description
This photograph captures the graphic essence of Paris. The monument rises as a dark silhouette against a stripped sky. A play of radical contrasts defines the composition. The light pierces through the metal structure, creating an intense focal point. This backlighting transforms the architecture into a pure geometric shape.
The artist uses black and white to accentuate the visual depth. The wet ground reflects the clarity of the sky, bringing a symmetrical balance to the image. A few birds cross the space, instilling a subtle movement into this frozen scene. The human silhouettes in the foreground remain anonymous. They emphasize the monumental scale of the edifice while evoking urban solitude. The precision of the framing and the management of shadows reveal a spontaneous approach to street photography. Every detail reinforces the timeless aspect of the Parisian landscape. The image focuses on the meeting between the rigor of iron and the fluidity of natural light.
Presentation
French photographer born in 1982, Fabien Olart discovered photography as a teenager through the photos of Lee Miller, Dorothea Lange and Sebastião Salgado.
After studying communications and image, he became a collaborator with the hemis.fr agency, specializing in tourism and travel. Regularly published in the press (Le Monde, Détours en France, Maxi, Marianne…) as well as in publishing (Gallimard, Hachette, Michelin Edition…), his productions are above all produced in Europe.
Member of the Street Photography France collective, it is in black and white that his sensitivity is most expressed. Attracted by urban life, his work is characterized by spontaneous, highly contrasted photography, playing between light and shadow. The human, often solitary, remains an important element of its production, while being integrated into urban or natural landscapes.
