Biography
Mariette Forges is a French sculptor, born in 1957.
Right from her childhood, Mariette Forges developed a taste for art, encouraged by her parents. She joined Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Bourges, before turning towards physiotherapy. Mariette worked as a physiotherapist for 15 years. Eventually she decided to leave this behind and dedicate herself to sculpture.
Her past profession has an obvious effect on her work. Indeed, the artist is mainly interested by representing the body, its positions, shape and texture. Her creations transcribe the corporal expression in another manner.
Mariette Forges's work is exhibited in French, American, Lebanese, English, Belgian and Japanese galleries.
