In this striking work from Série B, Jean-Jacques Marie continues his exploration of abstraction through a dense and vibrant composition. The colors literally explode on the canvas: deep reds, bright yellows and intense greens mingle with finer projections of white and sky blue. The contrast between these vibrant hues and dark textured backgrounds gives the work a striking depth.
The nervous and dynamic lines of projections create a complex tangle that immediately attracts attention. Each brushstroke seems spontaneous and controlled at the same time, capturing the very essence of the artist's own projection technique. The touches of color are superimposed in successive layers, creating a sensation of perpetual movement, as if the energy of the gesture never ceased.
Beyond the bright projections, we can see geometric shapes that structure the work in a subtle way, giving balance to this apparent anarchy. The shades of blue and green in the background bring a certain tranquility that contrasts with the liveliness of the other colors. The whole seems to form an explosion of creativity where abstraction and geometry meet and dialogue.
This creation, rich in textures and colors, reflects Jean-Jacques Marie's mastery in the art of integrating the chaos of gesture into a precise geometric structure, while maintaining a raw and spontaneous energy. A fascinating play between order and disorder, movement and stability, which invites the viewer to dive into this composition and discover its multiple layers and meanings.
Jean-Jacques Marie's B Series as a bi-style explores a dynamic fusion of abstraction and geometry, combining vibrant projections of color and textured patterns to create vibrant and immersive works.

Jean-Jacques Marie is an artist whose atypical and passionate career reflects a relentless quest for new forms of expression. Born in 1949 in the Paris region, he initially distanced himself from his passion for art, yielding to social pressures that guided him towards a more conventional life. At the age of forty, however, he decided to devote himself fully to his vocation, beginning a creative journey marked by experimentation, self-taught work and a profound transformation of his artistic approach.
Exploring various mediums, including Chinese ink, he discovered avant-garde Asian abstraction, which redefined his art. This evolution led him from figurative to a lyrical and vibrant abstraction. He then developed a unique technique, "Projected Abstraction", where the paint is projected vertically onto textured backgrounds, giving his works a visual and tactile dynamic, close to action painting through its frenetic and expressive gestures.
This metamorphosis marks a reinvention of his artistic vision, where each work becomes a projection of his unconscious. For Jean-Jacques Marie, abstraction goes beyond the simple final result to become a creative process freed from any figurative constraint. His works reflect a deep introspection, combining spontaneity and technical mastery to directly touch the viewer's soul.
Today, he continues to explore the boundaries of abstraction with an insatiable curiosity, affirming that his artistic journey is far from over. His approach, rooted in a reflection on the language of color and form, remains a perpetual quest for balance between order and chaos, between control and letting go. Each work represents a new step in this journey, a window opened onto the depths of his inner universe.
Jean-Jacques Marie is represented by the Galerie Hurtebize (Cannes).
