Reina Roja obra de Zeta Yeyati royalty reimagined through discarded matter

Reina Roja obra de Zeta Yeyati emerges with quiet strength, commanding a second glance. This 38x53cm piece, created on paper using mixed media techniques like acrylic, stencil, and collage, does more than portray a male figure. It redefines the concept of power and iconography through a deeply contemporary aesthetic. The character, bearing the title of Reina Roja, straddles the line between myth and everyday life, between symbol and human vulnerability. His gaze is the emotional center, defined by minimal lines and enveloped in a palette of red, white, yellow, and black, evoking intensity, fire, and mystery. Although masculine, this Queen inhabits an open narrative that blurs binaries with playful, dreamlike charm. Through assemblages and unconventional materials, Yeyati constructs a narrative that transcends visual form. Reina Roja obra de Zeta Yeyati reaffirms the artist's philosophy that transforming the discarded into poetic expression is not a luxury but a necessity in a consumerist world. It reminds us that art can be a quiet yet powerful form of resistance.

Where forgotten beauty begins

Zeta Yeyati, a visual artist born in Burzaco in 1965, possesses a unique sensibility. Although widely known for his music, his first creative spark came through drawing and working with wood as a child. That artisanal and free-spirited origin deeply informs his visual work, where every stroke, texture, or paint stain seems to speak from a place familiar with the silence of discarded things. His essence as an artist lies in his ability to find poetry where others see waste and to compose imaginary worlds where nostalgia and irony coexist with grace. Yeyati's art is not just seen, it is heard through the eyes.

Living material in Reina Roja obra de Zeta Yeyati

Reina Roja obra de Zeta Yeyati exemplifies the artist's multidisciplinary and liberated creative process. His identity is shaped by a practice that avoids academic molds, even as it draws on experiences with mentors like Pujía, Ferrari, and Aisemberg. Yeyati is a natural explorer. He works in ceramics, stencil, collage, and assemblage, but most of all he works with the memory embedded in materials. Rusted metals, forgotten wood, found papers become symbols in his hands. In Reina Roja, visual resources like pictorial stains, drawn forms, and transparencies compose a poetic tension where the figure becomes a symbol. This stylized character, the scene's focal point, appears with an almost magical aura. A queen without a crown but with a gaze that commands the unseen. Humor, nostalgia, and fantasy fuse into a visual language that only Yeyati can articulate.

A work that transforms through gesture and stillness

Reina Roja obra de Zeta Yeyati is not meant to be loud. Its greatness lies in subtlety, in the ability to turn the marginal into the essential, the broken into the dignified, the forgotten into the central. This work not only enriches the artist's body of work but also reinforces his commitment to an ethical aesthetic, to a way of creating that is also a way of being. The Reina Roja does not conform to traditional symbols of power. Instead, she is built through visual synthesis, hybrid languages, and the nobility of simplicity. In its transparencies and stains lie stories that don't need to shout to be felt. Yeyati offers a piece that speaks of other worlds, but also of our own. A world that, like his art, can still be reinvented through imagination, memory, and consciousness.

Presentation

Zeta Yeyati (Burzaco, 1965) is a visual artist who has transformed recycling into a poetic language and forgotten matter into an act of aesthetic redemption. While the public has come to know him as a musician in projects like Los Intocables, La Mississippi, or Babel Orkesta, his true creative roots lie in the visual arts. Visual expression was his first terrain. Before the chords came drawing. Before the stages came interlocked tree trunks.

A restless and sensitive autodidact, Yeyati attended workshops with figures such as Antonio Pujía, León Ferrari, and Diana Aisemberg, yet his work doesn't follow any formal school. He moves freely between ceramics, collage, stencil, and assemblage. His aesthetic is nourished by what others discard: street posters, scraps of iron, furniture legs, bronzes, and aged wood. A dumpster was his first museum. Then came flea markets, where he continues to collect remnants for his unique pieces.

In his works, dogs, birds, musicians, queens, horses, and magicians coexist, as if each figure emerged from a story older than the object itself. His repertoire is populated by characters that rise from the collage with the force of a lucid dream. He does not seek to imitate reality but to reincarnate fragments of it. As curator Rodrigo Alonso described, his art is a “vital philosophy" — a gesture that defies consumerism and embraces the possibility of reviving the forgotten.

Color —present with striking intensity in his recent work— arrived through an internal shift: his encounter with Milo Lockett, which not only redefined his palette but also his way of sharing his universe. Since then, Yeyati's work pulses with a more playful energy, without losing its symbolic depth.

Yeyati does not merely create images —he builds an emotional archaeology from the remnants of everyday life. Each work is a story made of time, memory, and waste; a rescue act that restores humanity to matter. From that gesture —profoundly plastic and profoundly human— his art speaks to those willing to look beyond the surface.
