Nicolas Daguès

Nicolas Daguès is an amateur sculptor born in Nièvre in 1975. After a doctorate in biology and in parallel with his professional activity, he devotes himself to sculpture since 1998. It is in a workshop in Touraine that he learned the basics of modeling then, arriving in the Lyon region, he perfected his technique in various workshops and began to make bronze sculptures. After having fashioned his sculptures in clay or plastiline, he makes a silicone and plaster mold in order to create a bronze print using the lost wax casting method. There follows a long work of chiselling, sanding and polishing before the final touch, the patina, which gives each sculpture its final appearance. Nicolas Daguès' sculptures are inspired by the world of cinema or cartoons and feature characters accompanied by their pets.
