Presentation

Any work knows about us things which we are unaware of it. Paul Maz goes to the meeting of this unknown hidden in the middle of each one of his creations and gives it to see by leaving free course to any interpretation.

Its inspiration is born from a memory, a gleam,an emotion. It is carried by a poetic expression near to nature while leaving a big part to abstract. The aridity of deserts, celestial foam, the marine mystery or the folds of the Earth are present in a free space with force. A space where the lines, the masses and the colors settle without conformism. He plays with the limits ; give life to an abstract landscape which it hastens to adapt to rewrite it while answering the pressing need for making its own territory of it.

Each of its work is the fruit of a travel whose course is unaware of the final destination. It is let seize by the moment, accompanies autonomy of the colors. The tools - spatula, brushes, sponge or knife - prolong the gesture. Work occurs, always surprising.

A territory where to lose itself to imagine.

Each work of Paul Maz is also the place, opened, where to project itself to lose themselves, or imagine, among elements which are next to sometimes the same border which one does not know if it separates or joins together.

In these spaces where the materiality and the blurred limits of interior territories meet, the horizon is present, often. Sometimes multiple.

Paul Maz was born in 1952 in Fontainebleau, France. Journalist, author of shows and magician he works in his wokshop at Le Perreux sur Marne close to Paris.
