Marc Giai-Miniet, born in 1946 in Trappes in Yvelines, is a French surrealist, fantasmatic painter and engraver1. He paints with great force an underground world, in dark tones, in a very personal sepulchral atmosphere.
His vocation was awakened the day when a teacher from Trappes, Monsieur Mounier, took him to an exhibition of reproductions of Rembrandt.
He continued his studies at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he devoted his studies to engraving techniques.
Very active and an art activist in the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines region, in 1973 he created the Regard-Parole2 association which organizes numerous artistic events.
In 1984, he received a scholarship from the Ministry of External Affairs for a stay of several months at the Franco-Egyptian Center of Karnak in Luxor.
He was made a Knight of Arts and Letters in 20003.
From 2002 to 2011, he was secretary of the Salon de Mai where he exhibited regularly since 1975.
