Philippe Arlaud

I invite you to walk through my paintings by letting you take to the discovery of landscapes and people. You will find there my ties to Provence where I spent my childhood, Alsace, which I always visit with delight, Normandy which welcomes me regularly, and so many other wonderful regions. Light and colors come to animate each object, each flower, each silhouette and remind us that life is everywhere.

Impressionism painters have always amazed and influenced me. The portraits of simple people, at the bend of a street, or taking a pose, fascinate me constantly.

I have been painting for 30 years. Essentially self-taught, I nevertheless attended many painting courses, in 1982 in Lorient, then for 10 years in Saint Maur des Fossés, then in Villemomble and Le Raincy until today.

Techniques used:

- acrylic on canvas

- oil on canvas

- in both cases the brush or the knife

Along with painting, I sculpt clay, a technique that complements painting perfectly, especially for portraits.
