Presentation

Israeli artist Alexander Grinshpun was born in 1949 in Moldova, graduating from a local art school in 1968 before completing his studies at the Institute of Arts in St. Petersburg in 1978, specializing in theatrical performance decorations with a focus on background scenery for theater and opera. From 1974 to 1982, Grinshpun worked as a theatrical artist in Syktyvkar, where he held his inaugural solo exhibition in 1980.

Between 1984 and his relocation to Israel in 1991, Grinshpun participated in several group exhibitions across Kishinev, Odessa, Tiraspol, and Bedery, where his works were showcased individually. In 1994, Alexander Grinshpun held a solo exhibition at the House of the Navigator (Advice Gilboa). In subsequent years, he became a regular participant in annual exhibitions at the Chagall House in Haifa. A notable solo exhibition took place in June 2003 at the Center of Arts in Rishon-Lezion, Israel, featuring around 80 picturesque canvases displayed in two expansive, well-lit halls. Following this success, Alexander received invitations to exhibit in various galleries in the US, Canada, and Singapore.

Grinshpun's artistic philosophy is eloquently portrayed in his paintings, reflecting his belief in renewing the essence of artwork and altering the viewer's perspective. He has cultivated a distinct style known as expressionist-naive, inspired by the unique landscape and ambiance of the Mediterranean region.
