Born in 1943 in Saitama. Graduated in 1968 from Tama Art University, painting department. Studied under Yoshishige Saito. From 1968 to 1970, he was a central member of Mono-Ha and, starting from his "Cut Off" series, created 3D works with a strong materiality. He participated in events such as the 8th Japanese Contemporary Art Exhibition in 1968, "Contemporary Art Movement" in 69, "Contemporary Art Cross Section" in 70, and "Paris Biennale" in 71. From From 1969, he began making screen prints (and later photo prints) using snapshots of landscapes and people, and in 1970, he received the grand prize at the 1st Seoul International Print Biennale.

Later, he exhibited prints and festivals around the world, such as the International Print Biennial in Krakow in 1972. Between 73 and 74, he was sent by the Ministry of Culture to England. He started making paintings from the 80s, including the "Kagero" flat watercolor series and the "Eclipse" graphite finger painting series. In 1982, he created a mural at the Kamakura Central Community Center. He began teaching at Musashino Art University in 1997. Yoshida died in 1999.
