Presentation
Of Brazilian and Chilean origin, graduated in visual arts from different institutions in France, Belgium and Colombia, Valentina Canseco was born in Paris in 1985.
His work spans painting, sculpture and installation. She explores a unique relationship to the landscape through light, color and variations of scale and composes metonymies like prisms of the visible, capable of recreating sensitive impressions of the outside world. In her work in volumes, she questions our relationship to architecture and life. In painting, her paintings, punctuated by the musicality she perceives in the colors, create scores of the invisible. The spectrum of his work thus unfolds from an initial figurative relationship towards abstraction and spirituality.
Regularly requested or selected, Valentina Canseco's work has been exhibited for several years in institutional places or private exhibitions. Winner of the Medellin (Colombia) creation grant, her first works were presented in several cultural institutions in the city in 2011 (The MAMM of Medellin, The MDE 11 biennial). In 2017, it was selected by the 62nd Salon de Montrouge. In 2018, she presented work as a photo-visual artist at 104, in Paris, as part of an exhibition in partnership with the MEP, as well as a collective installation at the French Pavilion of the Venice Architecture Biennale. She performs with the 19CRAC in Montbéliard (2019) and presents her work at the Villa Datris Foundation (Isle-sur-la-Sorgue) for the exhibition “Recycler-Surcycler" (2020). In 2021, she created a monumental installation at the Saint-Vincent Basilica as part of the Constellations International Arts Festival (Metz). She also participates in various contemporary art fairs in France and internationally with the 193 Gallery (Art Paris in 2021, Luxembourg Art fair or Miami Scope in 2022, Art Geneva with a solo show in 2023).
