Biography
Grandmother originally from Mauritius, Sylvain Leblanc studied plastic art at Cégep de Sainte-Foy and graphic design at Collège Ahuntsic. Painter for over 25 years, he draws his creative inspiration from everything that shapes his daily life and his relationships with human beings. His paintings in an abstract figurative style offer contemplative and serene atmospheres. Through his approach, the painter invites the viewer to immerse himself in his universe where relationships are woven, sometimes close sometimes distant, between the characters and objects with intense colors. The shapes, as realistic as they are imaginary, grotesque and harmonious, bear witness to the intimacy of Sylvain Leblanc's artistic breath. “… I am interested in the complementary dualities that inhabit us and that seek to define us. A movement that often tears us apart and leads us despite doubts and imperfections to self-acceptance. »In his creations, Sylvain Leblanc uses a mixed technique on canvas or on wood panels where he favors acrylic, lead pencil and image transfer.
