Biography

Born in 1979 in the Ivory Coast, Turay Mederic (Touré Mederic) was only 4 years old when his parents moved to the United States, Washington DC, with a normal apprenticeship.

"His secret dream is to devote himself to art. "

In 1995, his family returned to live in Africa and enrolled in a school of fine arts where
Received numerous awards in various competitions.

At the end of 1999 he was voted best young artist in West Africa.

His unique style, "Trace" is made up of an assemblage of newspapers, magazines, acrylic paint, oil pastel oil, and oil painting.

These Signs and symbols remind us of the Basquiat painter for the power of expressionism, and Pablo Picasso for these Cubist compositions. His language is not intended to be narrative: it is committed to the path of a rhetoric of metaphor in which the sign feeds on allusions, in order better to tell Africa.

His works are recognized by African and European critics. They recognize this young artist of great value. They confirm the growing talent with a brilliant future whose signature attracts the attention of collectors from London, New York, and around the world.
