Georges Troubat

Georges Troubat, born in 1951 in the Allier, returned to painting after a great detour by life. During this long absence of thirty years, he always “painted" in spirit, every day and passionately… with the same desire that led him to exhibit his oil paintings, in a figurative style, at the Hôtel de Ville de Montluçon at the age of seventeen

Despite a professional activity too demanding to continue to create, Georges Troubat will accomplish an immense interior work during all these years of pictorial silence allowing him to refine his choices and to build a mental journey of works. Georges Troubat has thus begun the work of materializing his inner journey, such as the excavation work of an archaeologist: How to find the force of expression in the past impression? How to give an inner image a physical existence? 

With patience and stubbornness: two qualities that accompany him, in addition to his conviction and his energy still youthful and intact, expressed by gesture and color. 

In the past, Georges Troubat may have inhabited the interior painting. Today, he finds it on his paintings and this presence reassures him about his existence. Even if she is abstract, her painting is evocative, sometimes familiar. It brings forth interior spaces, often rectilinear and geometric, and sensations for which one feels a strange closeness. 

His painting, both original and seductive, is close to figurative abstraction; the composition is carefully studied, the drawing is rigorous, and the color reigns supreme. Under an apparent freedom, nothing is left to chance.

His work is based on the mastery of oppositions and contrasts; of these, brought to their climax, will be born the Sublime Harmony, far from the facility offered by the technique of «passages», which the artist flees. It is the new artistic movement, the Upper Art,
