Alexandra Mas

Alexandra Mas is from Transylvania. Today, she lives in Paris and Bordeaux and has completely been immersed in the world of art since her youth. She joined collège des Beaux Arts at 14 and became Marcel Chirnoaga's protégé: the engraver. After a few exhibitions in her homeland and abroad, she continued her training at the University of Fine Arts in Bucharest, where she studied graphic design, painting and art history...

Alexandra Mas quickly got settled in France but traveled a lot, as she had a thirst for knowledge. She worked on projects for the Musée du Louvre, Christian Dior, Marsu Production and other private clients. She then moved to the US in 2006 in Beverly Hills, where she worked with young talents. She came back to France in 2009 and devoted herself entirely to her artistic work.

Alexandra Mas is inspired by contemporary dance and music, collective memory, sensitive issues concerning society that lead on to create a very eclectic imagination like her origins. Her painting is expressive with strong gestures along with details. One can sense a permanent contradiction between strength and finesse. Pictography is the essence of techniques, body-painting, painting, free-hand and photography, in order to create intriguing images.
