Biography
Barbara Wagner was born in Germany in 1955, she studied illustration and further developed her craft while training to be a teacher.
The basis of her involvement with art is the simple pleasure she derives from making, handling the materials, creating textures, experimenting with colour and the juxtaposition of figures. She also delights in the surprise element of lifting the screen to reveal the result.
Barbara Wagner has developed her own iconography; she uses the human form as her subject which has become her way of communicating what happens inside us all and is the bonding force between all humans. Figures in different settings with other figures tell short stories of life.
