Biography

Sven Pfommer always walks the line between photography , painting, and printmaking . Sven more or less gives precedence to one or the other art form. His works are often photographs taken during his travels, which he combines with graphic fragments and areas painted in his studio. Sven was born in Berlin , studied visual communication at the University of Hildesheim, and was awarded a British Council scholarship to study at the Royal College of Art in London. While working for several years as an art director and photographer, he has also spent the last 15 years focusing on the international art market. He founded his own gallery for contemporary photography in the art capital of Berlin ten years ago. For the past seven years, he has also been teaching photography, art, and design at various universities.

His work has been exhibited on 4 continents and published in the United States, Canada, the Netherlands and Germany. He was awarded the Walter Thiemann Prize in 1996. He has completed commissions for the automotive industry, the fashion industry, several hospitality projects and clinics.
