Biography
Born in 1964 in Sevenum, Henriette van Gasteren (aka Lilith) is a Dutch photographer.
In 2005, Lilith stopped writing and begans to illustrate her blog posts with self-portraits. In 2006, her self-portraits became as famous as her articles, and became the basis of her life stories.
She appeared dressed as a pin-up, an athlete or a manikin to illustrate recurring themes in her work: the search for identity, femininity, clichés about women and equality.
Lilith's self-portraits have a double meaning, they are effective and engaged but always contain a little bit of humour.
