Mia Hultgren's practice is cross-disciplinary and focused on tactility. It is based on a continuous exploration and experimental" hands-on" approach., where texture, form, and colour play a central role. She is driven by immersion in material and techniques, and in exploring its possibilities and limitations. She works with various textile techniques including, weave, embroidery, needle felting, and print, as well as materials such as ceramic, plastic, and metal. The work presented here is hand-tufted and hand sewed, using wool and bast yarn.
Mia Hultgren attended the Royal College of Art (MA) in London and the Royal Danish Academy (BA).
She is currently represented in the Scandinavia by the Nordic Art Agency.
