Jay-Jay Johanson was born on October 11, 1968 in Sweden.

After his studies he left for London to work at ID magazine.

In 1995, he was spotted by the BMG teams and recorded the first titles that would make up his first album "It Hurts Me So", "The Girl I Love is Gone", "So Tell The Girl That I'm Back In Town" which will be part of his first album Whiskey in 1996.

Tattoo will follow the following year. The 3rd album becomes the best-selling album of the artist Poison.

Worn by "Believe In Us" and "Far Away" which have become classics.

With this album he became known in the United States thanks to the series Queer as folk where the song "Suffering" appears.

In 2001, he composed his first soundtrack for the film La confusion des genres.

The same year he created a creation called "Cosmodrome" with Dominique Gonzalez Foerster which will be presented in Dijon then at the Biennale de Lyon, at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris in 2007 and at the Center Pompidou in 2015.

In 2002 he released the album Antenna, which he promoted around the world and performed at the reopening of Andy Warhol's Factory. In 2005 the album Rush was released, followed in 2007 by The long terms physical effects are not yet known.

In 2009, the album Self portrait was released, which was accompanied by an exhibition of Self Portrait paintings and photos in a gallery in Moscow.

The following years will follow the albums Spellbound, cockroach and opium.

In 2017, the album Bury the hatchet was released, which launched a new world tour.

In 2019, the album Kings cross was released, carried by the single "I heard Somebody Whistle" which became a classic and the duet with Jeanne Added

In 2021 the 13th album Rorschach test is released, the tour of which begins the same year.

The album is linked to the Empty beds project.

In 2022 a second best of comes out with the unprecedented Labyrinth.

In 2023 will be released the new album Fetish carried by the new single Finally.
