Biography
Nawar Haidar is a talented and promising young Syrian artist born in 1979. He received an Art degree from the University of Damascus in 2006 and a Master's degree in 2012. Haidar currently lives and works in Spain.
Rooting her craft in emotion, she
liberates the subconscious and produces works based upon instinct, feeling and
impression. The canvases depict anonymous figures and unknown places in vivid
colours and dynamic textures, all rooted in nostalgia and recollection.
His techniques range from ink on paper to acrylics on canvas. He has a unique spontaneity in his artistic approach which he expresses through his brush strokes, the simple yet dark treatment of his subjects, and the use of symbolic and non-human forms. According to him his work is based on feelings of love and shock, mixing love and hate, rejection and revenge, good and evil.
His work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in his home country as well as in Lebanon, London, Thailand, Spain, Amsterdam, Vienna.
