Biography
Naomi Frances has a strong artistic background, with her well-crafted drawing discipline underpinning everything that she creates.
She attended a course in Stained Glass at Broadland District Council Training Services and holds a degree in Graphic Design & Illustration from Norwich University College of the Arts, as well as a Master's degree in Sequential Design & Illustration from the University of Brighton.
Texture, contrast and colour are Naomi Frances' driving forces, inspiring her regardless of the medium she works in.
For her illustrations, she uses a wet graffiti technique, covering an entire piece with acrylic, drawing any lettering, priming the surface and painting around them. She then smears a liberal coating of oil bar on the dry primer, scraping it off using sticks, rags, blades and her fingernails to create different textures and contrasts.
