“I discovered Win's first drawings at the Marie-Hélène Montenay gallery; strong, structured and imposing. They remained present in my mind because it emanated this force that some artists know how to transmit to those who watch them. It was then that I wanted to meet him to get to know him better. He showed me his sculptures: fountains, trees, clouds, birds. He expressed to me his taste for nature, he told me that he had become a "gardener", certainly talented, but a "gardener". Only Win, above all else, remained deeply an artist. His work on paper is an invitation to travel in his dreamlike universe. The paint diffuses harmoniously in this vibrant structure. The gaze is free to go into ecstasies while being guided by the structures established by the artist. The line is a gesture for the one who draws, the color is a gesture for the one who poses it. Win frees forms, deploys them on large surfaces, builds his imaginary universe of nebulous, sometimes musical figures, where the gaze never stops.
