Biography
Sourcing inspiration from architecture and geography, Cassandra Brown’s abstract paintings, drawings, and collages investigate the structural identity of two-dimensional forms captured in stasis. Her works manufacture the travel of light and shadow across a single plane; the mood and mode of each element are transcribed by color and finish. The result is images of depth, balance and buoyancy that invite and invoke weightless movement. Based in New York, Brown works in Brooklyn and in her hometown on the North Fork of Long Island.
