Presentation
Born in Paris, Eva dreamed of becoming a dancer from a young age. She eventually became an actress and comedian in film and theatre before naturally gravitating toward painting. Her family environment led her to frequent Parisian galleries at a very early age. Lively and pragmatic, she decided to learn the trade by example and sought out painters. The best way to meet them? She would become a model!
This is how she exchanged with painters and sculptors, such as Volti, Alain Bonnefoit, Trémois, Boncompain, Cassigneul, Baroni… Then she spent three years as a student of Jean Claude Athané at the Nicolas Poussin workshop and at the Grande Chaumière.
Very quickly, life drawings led her to the Nude and compositions of bodies in movement. Quick and sure, her eye and her training allow her to capture the essence of the line and the stroke whose simplicity reveals in an extreme demand all the personality of the bodies that she makes twirl before our eyes. In Eva, movement translates her dynamism. Her taste for color and composition associated with her frequentation of Modern Art galleries and painters predisposes her to painting. Like her temperament, curious and active, she delivers us a generous and delicate painting. From the drawing she retains an agile pencil stroke that we distinguish behind supple and suggestive forms. The colors are warm and reflect a generous and assertive character.
As thoughtful as she is enthusiastic, Eva takes us into a world built for herself, sometimes filled with solitude, in which we find her favorite themes: the solitary tree, the road, the window often lit by a light coming from above.
