This evocative artwork depicts a solitary child seated against a textured, decaying wall that blends a mosaic of earthy browns, muted greens, and faded blues, evoking a sense of abandonment and neglect. The child curls into a tight embrace, embodying vulnerability and introspection. To the left lies a white horse's head, hinting at discarded innocence or a lost fantasy. The scene is bathed in a dramatic, directional light that casts stark shadows, amplifying the somber mood while highlighting the wall's crumbling texture. This juxtaposes the fragile purity of the child with the raw, unforgiving backdrop, creating a poignant narrative of isolation. The composition's balance of light and shadow underscores the emotional tension and depth, inviting contemplation on themes of lost innocence, resilience, and the passage of time. The artwork is a compelling exploration of human emotion within an evocative, neglected space.
The artwork technique is print true giclèe mounted on dibond.
" I always worked focusing my attention on the elements that characterize the drama, that always, embraced our existence. “

Nicola Vinci is to one of the most lyrical and narrative Italian photographers, internationally known and followed by more careful criticism. The Storie (Stories) are realized in 2013 and composed of ten environments of deep and disturbing poem, where two children are questioning the observer, asking in a gentle way the mystery of life, the feelings of the beginning and of the end of things.
Questions that only children could make, with rooms full of suspended time, between objects that tell a story intimate and elusive, yet known to all: that the life of every day, full of spirituality and poetry. Each photo is made with true Giclèe print and mounted on dibond; another cycle is entitled Il Nodo (The Knot): the photographs are arranged in a composition of several pieces, to form landscapes as fragments of glances and places, once again intended to question the public on the significance of time and space through the vision of environments, the streets, the skies and details that we look and life every day.
