Original Acrylic on Canvas (Unstretched) – Ships Rolled in a Protective Tube.
“A cubist celebration of rhythm and reflection, where muted colours, geometry, and music meet in harmony."

DESCRIPTION

Harmony is a one-of-a-kind original acrylic painting on canvas, featuring an abstract cubist interpretation of a guitar. Rendered in soft, boho-inspired tones, the composition explores balance and emotion through a harmonious colour palette of muted pastels and gentle contrasts.
The surface is enhanced with iridescent layers of metallic gold and silver, creating a luminous finish that shifts beautifully with the light, transforming as you move, much like music itself.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT / INSPIRATION

“Music is the invisible brush that paints emotions on the canvas of time."

In Harmony, the familiar form of a guitar is reimagined through a cubist lens, fractured yet whole, geometric yet lyrical. The interplay of line, light, and texture mirrors the essence of music itself: structured but soulful, disciplined yet free.

Soft tonal gradients flow like gentle chords, blending rhythm and stillness into a visual melody. This work captures not the sound of music, but its spirit, the invisible pulse that connects heart to hand, emotion to expression.

Harmony celebrates the meeting point between geometry and grace, silence and sound. It is not merely seen, but felt, an ode to the timeless truth that both art and music speak the same language of the soul.

Presentation

Lanre Adefioye is a contemporary artist whose practice blends abstract cubism with elements of pop art, informed by visual motifs drawn from African cultural heritage. Through bold geometric forms, layered compositions, and vibrant colour palettes, his work invites viewers into spaces of introspection, emotional connection, and purposeful reflection.

At the core of Lanre's practice is an exploration of identity, emotion, and modern life. He creates dynamic compositions that reflect multiple perspectives and the complexity of contemporary experience. His work balances structure and intuition, offering open-ended narratives that encourage personal interpretation.

Lanre works primarily with acrylic on canvas and wood, as well as three-dimensional wooden sculpture, while also creating digital works that extend his visual language across contemporary formats. His multidisciplinary background in industrial design and graphic design contributes to the strong sense of rhythm, balance, and visual clarity present throughout his practice.

His artistic journey began as a teenager following a transformative studio visit with the late artist David H. Dale, an experience that solidified his commitment to art and shaped his creative direction. Over the years, his work has been exhibited in galleries and art fairs, and for more than a decade he has focused on online distribution, allowing his work to reach a global audience directly.

Lanre's work has been widely collected internationally. Highlights include over 4,800 artworks sold through his Lanre Studio Etsy platform and more than 700 customer reviews, licensing partnerships with major retailers including Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, Michaels, Fabrix Lancaster, and Let's Sew, and a feature in CNN Underscored's His artwork was also selected for the 2012 ICRW Champions for Change Awards Gala publications.

Lanre's mission is to create art that uplifts, work that serves as a continual source of positivity, reflection, and connection for those who encounter it.
