HENRI SCHAEFFER (1886 - 1965): Henri Schaeffer was a French painter known primarily for his atmospheric landscapes, harbor scenes, and views of Paris and the French countryside. Born in France in 1886, he developed a style rooted in the traditions of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, using luminous color, expressive brushwork, and careful attention to changing light. Schaeffer frequently painted scenes along the French coast and in the countryside, as well as urban views featuring streets, bridges, and architectural landmarks. His work reflects the influence of late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century French landscape painting while maintaining a personal emphasis on color and atmosphere. Schaeffer exhibited his paintings in France and his works have appeared in international collections and the art market. He died in 1965.
