Biography

Victoria Lavezzari (b. 1992, Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine-Italian artist and architect based in Madrid, Spain. Fascinated by the challenge of replicating digital tones on canvas, she uses fluorescent acrylics and oils to translate the saturation and luminosity of digital color into painting. Distorted human figures are a recurring motif in her work, through which she explores the tension between dreams and nightmares.

Lavezzari graduated in Architecture from the University of Palermo in 2016. Before devoting herself entirely to painting, she worked for a decade in 3D design, digital post-production, and graphic design. While her digital work translated the physical world into hyper-realistic virtual environments, her painting practice reverses that impulse—transferring the artificial qualities of the digital realm back into physical space through hyper-saturated colors, impossible figures, and video game-inspired aesthetics.

Her process merges digital tools with traditional painting. Her work was awarded 1st Prize in Versiona Thyssen XX at the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza (Madrid, 2024) and the PRIOR Art Collections Residency Award in Versiona Thyssen XXI (Barcelona, 2024).
