Biography

MARTHA MANS (1942 - ): Martha Mans is an American master painter known for her richly textured landscapes and expressive work in oil and watercolor. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she earned a degree in art and art education from Carlow College and continued her studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art and the University of Southern California. Her paintings draw inspiration from the landscapes of New Mexico, Colorado, Italy, and France, with a particular fascination for the textures, colors, rhythms, and changing light of the natural world. Working with expressive brushwork and palette-knife techniques, Mans creates landscapes that balance realism with a strong sense of movement and painterly energy. She has received numerous awards in national juried exhibitions and is a signature member of both the American Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society. Mans has taught painting extensively in the United States and abroad, including workshops in Italy, France, Brazil, Turkey, and throughout the United States, and has exhibited at venues including the National Academy of Design in New York and galleries in Japan. Her work is represented in corporate and private collections internationally, and she maintains a studio in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
