Description
This hand-blown glass artwork captures the essence of mid-century abstraction. Fluid lines define its silhouette. The form undulates with organic grace. Deep amethyst tones shift across the surface, creating a natural play of light and shadow.
Created in 1955, the piece reflects a masterful command of material. The artist blended formal academic training with a daring experimental spirit. Each curve suggests motion frozen in time. The thick glass walls provide a sense of weight and permanence.
The design avoids rigid symmetry. It instead embraces a sculptural spontaneity. This approach marks a transition toward decorative objects as independent art. The glossy finish enhances the translucency of the purple hues. The base remains sturdy and grounded. It supports a vessel that feels both architectural and biological. This artwork exemplifies the intersection of traditional Czech glassmaking and modern artistic expression. Precise craftsmanship ensures a seamless flow from the wide rim to the tapered bottom. The Vase on his age is in excellent condition. Pattern no: 70187/22
Presentation
Miloslav Klinger (1922-1977)
In the years 1936-1940 he graduated from the Secondary Vocational School of Glass in Železný Brod under the guidance of prof Jaroslav Brychta and master Jan Stuchlík.
After two years of experience in the Josef Kleinert glassworks, he continued his studies at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in the studio of Karel Štipl from 1942. In 1944, he interrupted his studies and began creating sculptures from leaded metallurgical glass, again at Kleinert's company. He finished his studies only in 1948. He returned to Železný Brod as a designer of glassware and sculptures, where he worked with breaks until 1982. He collaborated with Josef Cvrček on some designs. He worked for three years as the director of the Secondary Glass School in Železný Brod. He returned to Železný Brod even after he moved to Prague.
He has exhibited exhibitions all over the world with his graphic works; promoted synthetic materials, mechanical and industrial work techniques. He was, among other things, the creator of stamp technology (so-called stamp art, originally children's and school rubber stamps).
He has suffered from Parkinson's disease since the 1980s, which gradually eliminated him from his career. [1]
He was also active as an art theorist, esthetician and publicist. He lectured at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, where he was appointed associate professor in 1986
