La Rinascita del borgo, 2020

Patricia Oca

This artwork is a vibrant and surreal landscape that captivates the viewer with its dreamlike juxtaposition of night and day. The composition is divided into two distinct yet seamlessly integrated realms. On the left, an ethereal crescent moon hovers over a cluster of pastel-colored abstract houses perched on a hillside. These structures, with their irregular shapes and whimsical windows, suggest a mystical village shrouded in twilight. To the right, a bright, radiant sun dominates the scene, casting its luminous glow over the landscape. The sun’s rays spiral outward, creating a dynamic energy that contrasts with the tranquil, moonlit sky. Below, lush and multicolored foliage serves as a focal point at the center of the canvas. The trees are depicted with expressive brushstrokes, blending warm autumnal tones with cool touches of green, bringing the scene to life with a vibrant palette. The foreground features intricately detailed abstract shapes, possibly figures or animals, rendered in a style reminiscent of cubism. These elements add an additional layer of intrigue, inviting viewers to interpret their meaning within the surreal narrative. The artist employs a harmonious combination of vivid colors and intricate patterns, creating a captivating balance between fantasy and reality. Overall, the artwork is a stunning exploration of duality, uniting night and day, reality and imagination, through masterful use of color and form.
