The oil painting on cardboard titled "Towers of the Monastery" transports the viewer into a serene, almost dreamlike world where nature and sacred architecture blend harmoniously under a radiant blue sky. The artist uses vivid colors and textured brushstrokes to craft a tranquil and contemplative scene, inviting us to slow down and appreciate the spiritual and natural beauty that surrounds us. Dominating the composition is the elegant, sunlit monastery tower that rises gracefully among the trees. Painted in soft creams and golden hues, the structure is defined by gentle vertical strokes, capturing the play of sunlight on its surface. The tower's dome and spire draw the eye upward, symbolizing a connection between earth and the divine. Its simplicity, balance, and verticality embody the spirit of monastic life—devotion, elevation, and stillness. Surrounding the tower are tall trees painted in lush greens, russet browns, and hints of red, which suggest the onset of early autumn. The dense foliage gently frames the architectural forms, softening their lines and creating a delicate interplay between human-made and natural elements. The artist skillfully renders the leaves and branches with loose, expressive strokes, conveying the gentle rustle of wind through the canopy. Some leaves catch the light and appear almost translucent, while others form darker patches that add depth and complexity to the scene. Nestled in the background, barely visible behind the leafy branches, are more towers—these with onion domes that hint at Eastern Orthodox architectural influences. Painted in subdued, mystical shades of blue and gray, they seem to float above the trees like quiet sentinels watching over the monastery grounds. Their ghostly outlines contrast with the brightly lit central tower, reinforcing the idea of layers of history and spiritual presence in this sacred space. A narrow path, dappled with shifting light and patches of shadow, winds its way toward the river in the background. Its winding course pulls the viewer gently through the composition, suggesting a journey—both physical and symbolic—toward reflection, water, and quietude. On the right side, the river shimmers in rich blues and aquamarine tones, its surface broken only by the suggestion of soft ripples and the silhouette of two small figures seated at the shore.
