Description
The energy of street art takes hold of this canvas. A central figure, crowned with a luminous halo, seems to emerge from a chromatic chaos. He wields a spray can like a precision instrument. From the nozzle bursts a vivid flame, a symbol of ardent creation.
The background plays with sharp contrasts. Blue and pink splashes intertwine with black projections. Movement is omnipresent. The gesture is rapid, almost instinctive. Every drop of paint tells the story of the urgency of urban expression.
A handwritten inscription anchors the composition. The text links writing to the pictorial act. The pen becomes fire, the paper becomes a wall. This metaphor emphasizes the transition from the intimate to the public space.
The technical work relies on the layering of coats. The spray creates vaporous gradients while the contours remain sharp. The whole forms a dialogue between graphic design and abstraction. The eye is drawn to the contrast between the light of the halo and the depth of the dark background.
Presentation
Born in Paris in 1976, originally from Congo Brazzaville, raised in Seine-Saint-Denis Berthet one is a designer, graffiti artist and author of comic strips. In 2009, he won the first transmurailles competition at the Angoulême festival. In 2010 his first album "L'évasé" was released and sold more than 10,000 copies. In 2015 the escape Volume II “Vive la liberthet" followed. Keen to share her experience, Berthet founded the Makadam association in 2013. He travels across France with the aim of sharing his journey with young people - and not so young people - in search of identity, dreams and ambition, but above all in need of means of expression. Strong in its attachment to its African origins, Berthet one's ambition today is to carry out actions beyond the borders of the metropolis to Africa.
