Description
The ink flows with total freedom on the white paper. The gesture is immediate. The material unfolds in organic shapes that evoke dreamlike landscapes or cellular structures.
The contrast is marked. The deep black gradually fades to make way for golden and silvery shades. These fluid transitions create a sensation of perpetual movement. The empty space becomes a central actor in the composition.
This minimalist approach favors instinct and spontaneity. The eye circulates between the dense areas and the translucent areas. Each drip testifies to a precise moment, a breath.
The work explores the boundary between chaos and balance. The composition is organized around an abstract silhouette that seems to float in a visual silence.
Presentation
"The ear has nothing to do here!!! It is the eyes that hear."
I work my paintings on canvas or wood panel with oil paint, in several very thin layers and my silver photos are reworked on the computer.
My subjects of inspiration range from old paintings to images that cross my dreams and my times of meditation.
Any subject appeals to me and even more so the feminine…sacred, chaos, the soul and the spirit. Currently, quantum physics and field theory question me and push me towards these quantum tables!
Following a severe depression and lung cancer in 2015, I discovered a new medium, Indian ink and paper, which I call "evaporescences", these are abstract paintings and as spontaneous as possible. I also work in photography and digital editing.
