Description
A stark visual rhythm defines this 2021 acrylic painting. Deep black silhouettes cut through a divided horizon. The composition splits into a luminous pale sky and a saturated blue sea. Two sets of elongated arms rise from the water. They reach upward in a mirrored gesture of aspiration or surrender. These abstract forms suggest human presence without defining detail. The artist employs a minimalist approach to convey fluid motion. Precise lines contrast with the soft blending of the background. A third figure remains partially submerged. This arrangement creates a sense of quiet synchronicity. The tension lies in the gap between the fingertips. Balance and symmetry guide the viewer across the canvas. The artwork captures a fleeting moment of aquatic grace. Each shape emerges from the deep blue expanse. The focus remains on the essential geometry of the human body.
Presentation
Waleria Matelska (born 1994 in Belarus)
In 2012-2015 she studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, where in the years 2015-2018 she her diploma from the studio of prof. Wojciech Ciesniewski.
Her works have been exhibited at numerous individual and collective exhibitions.
