Description
Turquoise and pink: nothing more is needed to say Miami. The turquoise of the ocean, the swimming pools and the Art Deco façades of Ocean Drive fills the whole background. The pink has moved into the character. Luxxo, GNelly's signature figure, stands upright, arms by its sides, slightly off-centre, with air all around it.
The head blends pink, cobalt blue and yellow, and bears two large black crosses for eyes, thick, glossy and in relief. A white zigzag thread runs along the skull like a seam. The body works through every pink, from candy to coral, lifted with bright yellow, red and touches of turquoise that bring the background back into the silhouette. One arm is streaked with black, the other plunges into deep blue and purple. Everywhere, the paint is laid on with a palette knife, in generous layers.
Then come the words. Miami is also a city of painted walls and art fairs, from Wynwood to Art Basel, and Luxxo carries the mark of it like a wall covered in graffiti. “Pink Love" is written on the chest, “Happiness" lower down, “Art" on a small yellow sign planted like a street sign. Around them, a crown drawn in red, a heart at the end of a stem, another pierced by an arrow, a yellow flower in thick relief, a spiral, rows of red and orange dots. Black and white splashes burst from the silhouette and carry on the energy of the gesture.
A black border painted freehand frames the composition. The name Luxxo runs vertically along the right-hand edge, and GNelly's signature is set in golden letters in a black cartouche at the bottom right.
The automotive clear coat gives the whole a wet look, as if the paint had only just been applied. Beneath this smooth, mirror-like surface, the turquoise takes on the transparency of pool water, and the relief of the character catches the light every time the eye moves.
A one-of-a-kind piece, joyful and full of momentum, between pop art and urban art, signed and delivered with its certificate of authenticity.
Presentation
GNelly is a contemporary artist who develops the LUXXO universe around an iconic and timeless character. Through her creations, she combines colors, materials, and graphic gestures to create a unique, modern, and recognizable visual language. Her work evokes travel, freedom, and escape, through unique pieces with a strong identity.
LUXXO is built as a constantly evolving universe. The character becomes a thread: recognizable at first glance, but reinterpreted through different creations and destinations. Each piece retains the codes of LUXXO while developing its own personality.
Through painting and sculpture, GNelly explores the possibilities offered by color, material, and contrasts. The wall paintings dialogue with the sculptures and participate in the construction of a global universe, conceived as a true artistic identity.
Presented through different series, LUXXO evolves over time through works and exhibitions, in France as well as internationally. Each creation enriches this universe while maintaining a strong visual coherence.
Her work draws particularly from pop culture, street art, contemporary design, and the universe of travel. Destinations thus become a field of interpretation, allowing LUXXO to change atmosphere while maintaining an immediately recognizable identity
LUXXO thus establishes itself as GNelly's artistic signature: a unique, free, and immediately recognizable universe.
