Description
This oil painting captures the deep intimacy between a woman and a child. The closed gaze of the maternal figure suggests a moment of contemplation. She envelops the child in a protective and tender gesture.
The composition is distinguished by a masterful use of color. An intense blue dominates the background and the drapery, creating a strong contrast with the warm tones of the faces.
The work with a palette knife and thick touches bring relief to the canvas. The light sculpts the features with precision, highlighting the softness of the expressions.
The figurative approach combines here with free gesturality. Washes and traces of raw paint add a contemporary dimension to this classic subject.
The balance between technical rigor and spontaneity guides the eye to the center of the image. This 2026 creation explores the theme of affective bond through a solemn portrait.
The materiality of the oil paint accentuates the physical presence of the figures on the support. Each shade of pigment reinforces the serenity that emanates from the whole.
Presentation
I grew up in a family where art was predominant, but in a more recreational way.
My practice started with plastic art, and changed following repeated visits to my aunt's old studio. The passion was born amidst tubes of oil paint, brushes, and turpentine essence
I later discovered the world of the painter Pascal Cessou by spending some time in his studio and later, I took painting classes with Michel LHOTE for two years.
In my artistic journey, I have done interior decorations in acrylic, pastel, and oil paint, today I mainly do oils on canvas.
My initial training is in a higher education program in design and architecture, a more technical approach to drawing. I did eight years of interior design in a contemporary style, for a French design brand.
In 204, after a personal reevaluation, I obtained a state diploma, I also did humanitarian work
I have been painting for about thirty years and since May 2026 I have settled as a Painter Artist.
Women are the main subject of my art, even if I sometimes wander into other areas.
