Description
The painting conveys a delicate, almost ghostly cityscape painted in thick, relief-like strokes. The artist uses pastel, muted tones (pinkish grays, creams, light blues) that create a sense of mist or morning haze.
At the center of the composition is the silhouette of old architecture: towers, spires, multistory buildings that seem to dissolve into the air. The lines are softly blurred and the contours tremble, so that the city seems half-real, like a memory or a daydream.
In the lower part a bridge with several arches can be seen. Beneath them is calm water, where small boats move, barely noticeable. The reflection, like the whole landscape, is rendered in light, almost elusive strokes.
The texture of the paint is very expressive: the surface of the painting is rough and dimensional, with a dense impasto that adds shimmering light and depth. Thanks to this, the image looks as if it were growing out of the canvas.
The overall impression is one of softness, quiet and melancholic elegance. It is like a calm, almost fairy-tale city frozen in the morning light.
