Still Tea, 2026

Still Tea offers an unconventional interpretation of a familiar domestic object, transforming the traditional subject of a still life into a composition of aluminium, metallic fragments, and mechanical details.
A teapot and a cup emerge from overlapping sheets of warm-toned metal, set against a reflective silver background. Small raised circular elements create a rhythmic pattern across the surface, suggesting movement and introducing a playful contrast to the otherwise ordinary subject.
The title plays on the tradition of still-life painting while referring to the quiet ritual of preparing and drinking tea. The familiar warmth of this everyday activity is expressed through industrial materials, creating an unexpected relationship between domestic comfort and the physical qualities of metal.
Visible joints, wrinkles, nails, and irregular edges are deliberately preserved, allowing the construction process to remain part of the visual experience. The reflective surfaces change with the surrounding light, giving the work a dynamic quality despite its seemingly static subject.
Within the Re series, Still Tea explores the transformation of both materials and familiar images, demonstrating how an ordinary object can acquire a different character when reconstructed through an unconventional artistic language.
