Description
A dreamlike landscape unfolds under a flamboyant sky. The light saturates the horizon and reflects on a tranquil expanse of water. In the foreground, a slender tree guides the gaze towards the center of the composition. Its light branches contrast with the density of the surrounding foliage.
The color palette is rich and contrasted. The deep red of the rocks dialogues with lush greens and touches of solar yellow. The artist uses oil to create fluid textures. The brushstrokes are broad. They infuse an organic movement into the nature depicted.
This painting, created in 2026, explores the meeting between land and sea. The composition plays on depth to invite contemplation. The framing emphasizes the majesty of wild and luminous nature. The shades blend into a subtle gradient, ranging from the dark blue of the depths to the warm hues of twilight. Each color area structures the space and accentuates the sensation of serenity. The emphasis is on the luminous intensity that crosses the scene.

Presentation
Born on March 26, 1947 in Chomutov, in West Bohemia, Czechoslovakia, Olga Schrüfer-Kozlova spent her childhood and youth in Karlovy Vary, where she obtained her baccalaureate and studied languages as well as tourism economics.
At the same time, she took fine arts courses with Professor Ludva.
In 1968, during the Prague Spring, she left Czechoslovakia and settled in Munich, Germany. She then continued her painting studies with Professor Hinsch in Göttingen.
Starting in 1979, Olga Schrüfer-Kozlova exhibited her works in many countries, including Germany, France, Monaco, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the United States, and Canada.
Her paintings are now in private and public collections in these different countries, as well as in Austria and the Netherlands.
She then lived for several years on the French Riviera as well as in Florida. Today, she lives and paints near Étretat.
The dominant theme of her artistic work is that of a landscape bathed in light.
The accuracy of this Goethe quote appears with a particular force in the work of Olga Schrüfer-Kozlova. The depth of her landscapes is entirely imbued with light.
In November 2025, during an auction in Prague (CZ), the painting
“In the hills", 40 x 40 cm, was sold for a record price — more than one and a half times its asking price: 5,0 € against 3,0 €.
