Jeanne-Sophie de Peretti lives and works in the Yvelines. Self-taught, she develops a figurative painting where light, color, and movement become a sensitive language.
From landscapes, places, or memories, Jeanne-Sophie de Peretti composes images where the real and the imaginary dialogue. Her paintings do not belong to faithful representation, but to a poetic reinterpretation that opens a space for reflection on our way of inhabiting the world. This distance from the real allows her to construct images that go beyond the narrative to question our relationship to the living, memory, and the ties that unite us.
Water occupies a central place in her work. Metaphor for memory, transformation, and what circulates between the outside world and our inner landscape, she runs through her paintings like a guiding thread. Over the years, houses, trees, and animals have come to populate this universe. These familiar presences pay homage to the places that welcome us and explore the interdependence of living beings, the discreet forms of tenderness, and our need for connection.
Oil painting dialogues with gouache, oil pastel, and paper embroidery in a search where the material accompanies the vibration of color. Light reveals emotions, memories, and the sensitive resonances that connect beings to each other.
