Description
Journey to Another World is a unique contemporary painting created by Tatjana Jermolajeva in 2026.
A monumental pink fish moves across a brilliant green atmosphere above a shadowed city. Around it, smaller fish, luminous spheres and white particles create a world that appears simultaneously underwater, celestial and urban.
The central fish is built through layered acrylic colour, crackled relief and reflective metallic fragments. These textured elements catch surrounding light and give the artwork a changing physical presence. A golden circular form glows behind the fish like a distant sun, moon or portal.
Jermolajeva deliberately disrupts ordinary scale and perspective. The city anchors the composition in reality, while the floating fish transform it into an imagined territory governed by freedom rather than physical laws.
The painting evokes departure, transformation and the courage to move beyond familiar boundaries. Its open narrative allows the viewer to interpret the central figure as a traveller, guardian or symbol of inner freedom.
Entirely created by hand, the artwork is a unique original and not a print or edition. It is signed on the front and fully documented on the reverse.
Delivered mounted on its original wooden stretcher and ready to hang. Certificate of Authenticity and lifetime authenticity guarantee by Abstract Art Gallery included.

Presentation
Tatjana Jermolajeva, known professionally as Tana Jerm (b. 1966, Latvia), is a contemporary Latvian artist and artistic researcher whose practice explores the expressive possibilities of matter, texture, and surface. Her work develops at the intersection of painting, material experimentation, and visual research, where technical knowledge and intuition become inseparable.
Rather than limiting herself to a single medium or process, Tana Jerm investigates relationships between color, transparency, density, layering, gesture, and relief. Through continuous experimentation, she constructs complex surfaces in which materials become active elements of the composition.
Texture lies at the heart of her artistic language. Layers accumulate, intersect, reveal, and conceal one another, creating depth and a physical presence that subtly changes according to light, distance, and viewing angle.
Her approach as an artistic researcher is fundamental to this process. Each artwork becomes a field of investigation—a space to observe material behavior, test possibilities, and discover unexpected visual relationships. Technical control is balanced by intuition and spontaneity, allowing experimentation to remain visible within the finished work.
At the center of her practice is transformation: the moment when color, matter, texture, and gesture merge into a unified visual experience. Created individually by hand, her works invite close observation and reveal tactile details that unfold gradually.
Through this dialogue between research and intuition, Tana Jerm has developed a distinctive contemporary language characterized by tactile richness, material sensitivity, depth, and presence.
