Description
A snowy surface extends under the gaze. White dominates the composition. It asserts itself through a thick and worked material. The knife has sculpted the paint to create a tactile relief. Splashes of color emerge from the background. The red, blue, and yellow sprinkle the whole. These chromatic touches seem to float like confetti. The gesture is fast. It is precise. Each fragment brings a luminous note to the monochrome whole. The contrast between the purity of white and the fragmentation of pigments guides the eye. The gaze travels without a fixed anchor. The space becomes abstract. It suggests a winter landscape or a rain of light. This composition plays on the depth of the impasto. The light catches the ridges of paint. It reveals the physical structure of the support. The balance rests on the random distribution of the small pigmented spots on a off-white background.
